Our client is seeking a PackingSupervisor (2IC) to join their team and report directly to the PackingManager. In this full-time permanent role, you will play a keyleadership role in overseeing daily packing operations, ensuring that repackingprocesses run efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company goals. Youwill support the Packing Manager in leading the team, optimising schedules,maintaining equipment, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met. As the 2IC, you will also assume fullresponsibility for the repacking department in the absence of the PackingManager, ensuring smooth operations and decision-making continuity. Thisposition requires someone who can work effectively as part of a collaborativeteam while upholding both team and company values, fostering a positive andproductive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- People Leadership: Lead, support, and develop the packing team, ensuring adherence to business culture and values. Provide training, motivation, and coaching to build a high-performing team.
- Occupational Health & Safety: Lead by example in safety practices and conduct safety audits. Ensure that all safety protocols are followed, and that staff are inducted and trained regularly.
- Supervision of Packing Operations: Supervise repack teams, manage day-to-day packing operations, resolve issues, and ensure resource management to meet daily production targets.
- Management of Spend and Budget: Monitor packing costs, control casual staff spend, and minimise waste through effective resource management and corrective actions when necessary.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management: Foster open communication with internal teams, external suppliers, and service providers. Promote collaboration and resolve any operational concerns in a timely manner.
- Continuous Improvement & Project Management: Actively support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and efficiency initiatives, contributing to ongoing performance improvements.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in repacking, production, or manufacturing environments, with a proven track record of leadership. Experience in a supervisory or 2IC role is preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Proficient or willing to learn repack planning and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Previous experience in food production or manufacturing is highly valued and will be considered as a significant advantage.
